Stemming from the tragedy at Columbine High School in 1999, Safe Schools Mohawk Valley began as Utica Safe Schools/Healthy Students – a federally funded grant that was designed to ensure the safety and overall mental health of youth across the county. Today, Safe Schools Mohawk Valley is a standalone 501c3 and has evolved to provide school and community-based services to youth and their families throughout the Mohawk Valley.

Our mission is simple – keep kids in school by reducing barriers to learning while supporting their social and emotional well-being. We believe in every child and support them and their family along the way to realizing their full potential and future goals.
